If ring end gap or side clearance is not as specified, replace components as necessary. See PISTONS, PINS & RINGS under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. When installing rings, ensure marked side of ring is facing upward (if marked), and ring end gaps are correctly spaced around circumference of piston. see scheme 20
