DETAILS OF TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FLOWCHART

  1. OBTAIN INFORMATION ABOUT SYMPTOM Interview the customer to obtain as much information as possible about the conditions and environment under which the malfunction occurs. GO TO 2.
  2. CHECK SYMPTOM Check the symptom based on the information obtained from the customer. Check if any other malfunctions are present. GO TO 3.
  3. CONSULT SELF-DIAGNOSIS Perform "MULTI DISPLAY" "self diagnosis" by connecting CONSULT. When DTC is detected, follow the instructions below: Record DTC and Freeze Frame Data. NOTE: If "CAN COM CIRC [U1000]" is displayed, start the diagnosis from the CAN communication system. Refer to " «DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE»(ref-516457-S37357724952012120600000) ". Is any DTC No. displayed? YES: GO TO 4. NO: GO TO 5 .
  4. DTC/SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS Perform a DTC/system diagnosis and repair or replace any malfunctioning part. GO TO 6 .
  5. PERFORM DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM Perform a diagnosis by symptom and repair or replace any malfunctioning part. GO TO 6.
  6. FINAL CHECK Check that the multi display unit functions normally. Does it operate normally? YES: End of trouble diagnosis NO: GO TO 2 .

Diagnosis Procedure

  1. PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS Turn the ignition switch ON and hold it for 2 seconds or more. Using CONSULT, check the "self diagnosis result" of "MULTI DISPLAY". Is CAN communication system displayed? YES: Refer to " «TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FLOW CHART»(ref-516393-S31211234242012120600000) ". NO: Refer to " «INTERMITTENT INCIDENT»(ref-516389-S36169925192012120600000) ".

MULTI DISPLAY UNIT: Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSES Check if any of the following fuses are blown: Signal name Fuse No. Battery power supply 13 Ignition power 3 Is the check result normal? YES: GO TO 2. NO: Replace fuse with a new one after repairing the applicable circuit.
  2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT Check voltage between multi display unit harness connector and ground. YES: GO TO 3. NO: Repair harness between fuse and multi display unit.
  3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT Turn ignition switch OFF. Remove multi display unit connector. Check for continuity between multi display unit harness connector and ground. Multi display unit Ground Continuity Connector Terminal M90 10 Exists 11 Exists Is the check result normal? YES: INSPECTION END NO: Repair the harnesses or connectors.
