MINI Inspection I
Change CVT (automatic) transmission fluid (MINI Cooper only): the continuously variable transmission (CVT) must have its fluid changed at every Inspection I. The only approved fluid is Esso EZL799, available under part number 83 22 0 136 376.
Final Inspection
Perform road test and observe suspension, brakes, unusual noises, etc. After completing the road test, visually check the outer surfaces of the shock absorbers for leaks.
MINI Inspection 2
The MINI Inspection 2 includes all of the procedures outlined in the Inspection I and replacement of the air cleaner and poly V-belt.
Diagnosis Attachments
Whenever the DISPlus/GT1 is used to determine faults stored, a printout must be made and attached to the R.O. A copy should be made of these printouts and attached to any part replaced before returning it to the Parts Department.
Prior to beginning any repairs, the following information needs to be printed
- Test code or Diagnosis Report (most important)
- Fault code(s)
- Fault conditions
The above information is needed to provide the MINI Division and its suppliers with additional data that pertains to a particular fault code. It also documents the results of the defect and in some cases why the parts are being replaced.
If the troubleshooting included taking measurements be sure to document those values, i.e battery test results, engine analysis measurements, before and after alignment reports etc.
Fault Code and Test Code Printout
Many repairs require the use of the DISPlus/GT1 tester to diagnose faulty components. Any component that has the ability to be diagnosed with test equipment must be accompanied by a copy of the diagnostic report and fault code printout when returned to the MINI Parts Return Center. The original printouts should remain attached to the repair order. Parts that are received by the MINI Division without the printouts will be debited.
