Adjustment

Various adjustments can be made to the convertible top of the R52 MINI Convertible.

For instance, spacer nuts can be used to adjust the convertible top seals with respect to the front side windows. The rear side windows can also be adjusted to the seals.

The front side windows can also be adjusted to the convertible top seals (as known from the Saloon).

The convertible top itself requires no adjustment. The threaded connections are fixed.

However, the operating cables for the sliding roof functions can be adjusted and replaced. For this purpose, the convertible top cover must be detached up to the cassette roof.

Then proceed as follows

  1. Remove roof console (mark mounting screws)
  2. Undo 5 screws at locking hook (both sides)
  3. Detach locking hook
  4. Lever out centering element
  5. Unscrew electric motor
  6. The operating cables are now exposed and can be replaced
  7. Check function
  8. Follow repair instructions

This is also the position, in which the parallel alignment of both operating cables can be measured and adjusted. For this purpose, it is necessary to compare the parallel position of the operating cables in the guides (e.g. with the aid of a correspondingly marked piece of welding electrode wire) and readjust the setting as required.

The motor must then be reinstalled. The setting of the operating cables can now no longer change.
