Removal and Installation
- Disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe at the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor. Loosen the screw clamp and disconnect the pipe.
- Remove the outlet pipe. Disconnect the outlet pipe from the throttle body. Unclip the hose from the outlet pipe. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube and remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. NOTE: The air cleaner outlet pipe should be securely sealed to prevent unmetered air from entering the engine.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Remove the left front wheel.
- Remove the seven pin-type retainers and four screws and position aside the left inner fender splash shield.
- Remove the bolt and remove the intake air resonator.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

| CAUTION | Throttle body bore and plate area have a special coating and cannot be cleaned or possible damage to the throttle body can occur. |
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. See «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-221834-S42533501902006022600000) .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. See «AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE - 2.3L»(ref-221822-S11174026902006022600000) .
- Remove the upper snow shield screws and the upper snow shield.
- Remove the throttle body. Disconnect the throttle position sensor electrical connector. Disconnect the accelerator cable and, if equipped, the cruise control actuator cable. Remove the screws and throttle body. CAUTION: The throttle body sealing surfaces are soft materials. Use care if cleaning is necessary.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Remove the upper show shield screws and upper snow shield.
- Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever and bracket. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the bracket.
- Remove the accelerator cable bracket nut, and unfasten the accelerator cable pin-type retainer.
- Remove the accelerator cable grommet from the dash panel.
- Remove the accelerator pedal from the rubber plunger.
- Position the plunger rearward and remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.
- Remove the accelerator cable.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Remove the upper snow shield screws and upper snow shield.
- Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever and bracket. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the bracket.
- If equipped, Disconnect the cruise control cable from the throttle lever and accelerator bracket.
- Remove the bolts and the accelerator cable bracket.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Position the plunger rearward and remove the cable from the accelerator pedal.
- Remove the bolts and the accelerator pedal and shaft assembly.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
