Center Panel Unit Removal Note

  1. Pull the center panel unit outward, detach clip A from the dashboard, and then remove the center panel unit.
  2. When removing the center panel unit, disconnect the audio unit connector (24-pin) first to aid in disconnecting other connectors and the antenna plug.

DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the battery cover.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF]»(ref-430294-S35932810402011101700000) )
  3. Remove the door trim. (See «DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-430296-S08313422672011101700000) )
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the illustration.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Door Speaker Installation Note

CAUTIONIf the speaker is installed with the wiring harness out of the groove, an open circuit in the wiring harness could occur.
  1. Remove the door speaker with the wiring harness passing through the groove of the door module.

  1. Remove the battery cover.

Center Speaker Cover Removal Note

  1. Insert a tape-wrapped fastener remover into the service hole.
  2. Pry with the tape-wrapped fastener remover in the direction shown in illustration by the arrow to remove the center speaker cover.

Scheme 32: REAR SPEAKER INSPECTION
  1. Inspect for resistance between the rear speaker terminals using an ohmmeter. If the resistance is not within the specification, replace the rear speaker. Resistance Without Bose®: 8 ohms With Bose®: 3.6 ohms

TWEETER/DOOR UPPER SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the battery cover.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF]»(ref-430294-S35932810402011101700000) )
  3. Remove the door trim. (See «DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-430296-S08313422672011101700000) )
  4. Disconnect the connector.
  5. Remove the screws.
  6. Remove the tweeter/door upper speaker (with Bose®).
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 34: TWEETER INSPECTION
  1. Inspect for resistance between the tweeter terminals using an ohmmeter. If the resistance is not within the specification, replace the tweeter. Resistance 4 ohms

SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTIONGround plate reused If the ground plate is removed/installed for purposes other than newly replacing the ground plate, always reuse the ground plate which was removed from the vehicle, otherwise it could cause scratches to the trunk lid. Replacement with new ground plate If a ground plate other than the one applicable to the vehicle is used when replacing the ground plate, it could cause scratches to the trunk. Always use a ground plate which conforms to the Sirius satellite radio antenna applicable to the vehicle.

  3. Open the SIRIUS satellite radio antenna feeder cover No. 1 in the direction of arrow (1).
  4. Disconnect the connector.
  5. Remove in the order indicated in the illustration.

  1. While pressing the tabs, pull the SIRIUS satellite radio antenna outwards.

  5. Disconnect the connector.
  6. Remove the antenna feeder No. 1.

Note. For vehicles with the cruise control system, the audio control switch harness and the cruise control switch harness are united, therefore they cannot be separated.

  1. Verify the resistance and continuity between the audio control switch terminals. If the resistance and continuity are not as indicated in illustration, replace the audio control switch.
  2. Verify that the LED illuminates. If the LED does not illuminate, replace the audio control switch.

MICROPHONE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the battery cover.
