INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
| WARNING | When the engine and Intake-air system are hot, they can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the intake-air system. Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel. Fuel line spills and leakage and dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedure". (See BEFORE REPAIR PROCEDURE .) |

Scheme 140: Free Play Inspection
- Verify that the throttle valve is closed.
- Push the cable into the housing without turning the throttle plate and put a white mark on the cable at the end of the housing.
- Release the cable and measure the distance the white mark to the end of the cable housing. If not within the specification, adjust the accelerator cable. (See «ACCELERATOR CABLE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-178035-S19607563922005061000000) .) Free play 1.5-4.0 mm {0.06-0.15 in}

Scheme 141: ACCELERATOR CABLE ADJUSTMENT
- Move the white locking tab A to the unlock position.
- Turn stopper B to the unlock position. NOTE: If stopper B will not unlock, it may be necessary to carefully bend tab C out using a suitable tool.
- To adjust the free play, push or pull the throttle cable housing directly behind the spring.
- Measure the throttle cable free paly, making sure that it is within the specification. Free play 1.5-4.0 mm {0.06-0.15 in}
- Turn stopper B to lock position.
- Move the white locking tab A to the lock position.
