PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTC Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600668-S33757900182014022400000) . Turn the power switch off. Wait 6 seconds after turning the power switch off, and then turn the power switch on (IG). Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600668-S33757900182014022400000) . OK DTC B280A is not output. NG --> See step 3 OK --> See step 2
  2. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600412-S12576599882014022400000)
  3. REPLACE NO. 1 NIGHT VIEW ECU. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600443-S02049724522014022400000)
  1. CHECK THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATE Check if the headlights illuminate normally when the headlight dimmer switch is operated. OK Headlights illuminate normally. NG --> See step 3 OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK FOR DTC Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check. Clear the DTCs. Turn the power switch off. Wait 6 seconds after turning the power switch off. Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check. Check for DTCs. RESULT Result Proceed to DTC B2815 is output A Lighting system DTC is output B CAN communication system DTC is output C B --> See step 4 C --> See step 5 A --> See step 6

  1. ADJUST NIGHT VIEW CAMERA ASSEMBLY (AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT) Using the Techstream, perform automatic night view camera adjustment.   2. ADJUST NIGHT VIEW CAMERA ASSEMBLY (MANUAL ADJUSTMENT) Using the Techstream, perform manual night view camera adjustment. Refer to «ADJUSTMENT [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600443-S28354879822014022400000) . HINT: When adjustment is performed again, DTC B280A may be stored. However, as this does not indicate a malfunction, clear the DTCs. OK DTC B281A is not output.   1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 NIGHT VIEW ECU - NIGHT VIEW CAMERA ASSEMBLY) Disconnect the T34 No. 1 night view ECU connector. Disconnect the Y10 night view camera assembly connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition T34-17 (CCD+) - Y10-1 (CB+) Always Below 1 ohms T34-18 (NTSC) - Y10-4 (CV+) T34-19 (CLTS) - Y10-3 (CC+) T34-20 (CCD-) - Y10-2 (CGND) T34-21 (SG) - Y10-5 (SG2) T34-17 (CCD+) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher T34-18 (NTSC) - Body ground T34-19 (CLTS) - Body ground T34-20 (CCD-) - Body ground T34-21 (SG) - Body ground NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK NO. 1 NIGHT VIEW ECU Using the Techstream, follow the instructions to switch to the "Night View" screen and select "Active Test". Select "Night View System Operation" on the screen and forcibly operate the night view system. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.   6. INSPECT SATELLITE SWITCH SET Remove the satellite switch set. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600443-S08457805072014022400000) . Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Disconnect the T34 No. 1 night view ECU connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   1. CHECK WINDSHIELD GLASS Check that the area of the front windshield glass in front of the night view camera and the night view camera lens is free of dirt and damage. OK There is no dirt or damage. NG --> REMOVE DIRT OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (NEAR-INFRARED RAY EMITTER) Check that the headlight assembly (near-infrared ray emitter) is free of dirt and damage. OK There is no dirt or damage. NG --> See step 5 OK: Go to next step
  3. ADJUST HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (NEAR-INFRARED RAY EMITTER) Perform headlight assembly (near-infrared ray emitter) beam axis adjustment. Refer to «ADJUSTMENT [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600609-S06936248542014022400000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  4. CHECK SYMPTOMS Confirm that the "image is unclear / image is distorted" problem symptom is not present. OK Symptom is not present. NG --> See step 6 OK --> END (NEAR-INFRARED RAY EMITTER BEAM AXIS NOT ADJUSTED PROPERLY)
