The speaker circuit has a fail-safe function. When a short in the circuit is detected, all sound outputs are stopped.

This circuit sends an operation signal from the steering pad switch to the radio receiver.

If there is an open in the circuit, the audio system cannot be operated using the steering pad switch.

If there is a short in the circuit, the resulting condition is the same as if the switch were continuously depressed. Therefore, the audio system cannot be operated using the steering pad switch, and the audio system itself cannot function.

  1. CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT Check that the brake warning light comes on when the parking brake is applied and goes off when it is released. OK The brake warning light operates as specified above. OK --> See step 3 NG: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH Remove the parking brake switch. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   1. INSPECT FUSE (ACC, ECU-IG RH, MPX-B) Disconnect the ACC and ECU-IG RH fuses from the main body ECU RH. Disconnect the MPX-B fuse from the engine room No. 2 relay block. Measure the resistance of the fuses. Standard resistance Below 1 ohms NG --> REPLACE FUSE OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (GATEWAY ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) Disconnect the K66 ECU connector. Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition K66-24 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 ohms Standard voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition K66-10 (BATT) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V K66-2 (ACC) - Body ground Power switch ON (ACC) 10 to 14 V K66-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 10 to 14 V NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK --> PROCEED TO NEXT INSPECTION PROCEDURE SHOWN IN «PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE»(ref-387171-S39945431822011022400000)
