Removal

Note. Take care not to scratch the center fascia panel and related parts. Eject all the disc before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad garnish RH (A). NOTE: Apply the protective tapes to crash pad garnish and its related parts.
3. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad side cover (A).
4. After loosening the crash pad lower panel mounting screws, then remove the lower panel (A).
5. Remove the switch connector (A) and SSB connector (B) from crash pad lower panel.
6. Remove the crash pad garnish LH (A) after removing the screws.
7. Remove the instrument cluster fascia panel (A) after loosening the screws.
8. Remove the center fascia lower panel (A) after loosening the screws.
9. Remove the connectors (A) and hose (B).
10. Remove the center fascia upper panel (A) after loosening the screws.
11. Remove the audio assembly (A) after loosening the mounting screws.
12. Disconnect the audio connectors and cable (A), then remove the audio unit completely. NOTE: Lift the connector locking clip to the arrow direction, disconnect the connector. When assembling, install the connector and connector locking clip tightly. NOTE: If the CD does not eject, do not attempt to remove it because the audio unit may be damaged. Contact an authorized dealership for assistance.

Installation

1. Connect the audio unit connectors and cables.
2. Install the audio unit.
3. Install the center fascia upper panel.
4. Install the heater control unit.
5. Install the crash pad garnish LH and instrument cluster fascia panel.
6. Install the crash pad lower panel and side cover.
7. Install the crash pad garnish RH. NOTE: Make sure the audio head unit connectors are plugged in properly and the antenna cable is connected properly.

1. Troubleshooting for Speaker Basic inspection of speaker Inspect the sound from speaker after verifying that the speaker mounting screws are removed and the wiring connector is connected to remove any possible vibration transmitted from body trims and surrounding parts. Case Troubleshooting TERMINAL SPECIFICATION CHART No. Case Inspection/Remedy 1 Trembling sound Before replacing the speaker, inspect that the mounting screw is installed normally. After re-installing the speaker, verify that no trembling sound is heard. When hearing a trembling sound again, replace the speaker with new one. 2 Noise Check if the wiring connector is connected normally. If not, reconnect the wiring connector. In case of radio static, check if there is a noise from CD. If a noise is heard with the radio and CD on, replace the speaker with new one. NOTE: In case there is only radio static, this causes from poor radio reception. Thus the speaker needs no repair and replacement. 3 Speaker in operative Inspection of the wiring connection between the battery and the speaker Before replacing the speaker, inspect the wiring connection between the battery and the speaker is normal. Check the supply power to the speaker and the resistance, then inspect the sound quality. Specified impedance: 2 ~ 4ohms (Scheme 159): Checking Operation Of Speaker If the speaker works poorly, replace it with new one. CAUTION: When handling the speakers: Do not damage the speaker with impact, like dropping or throwing it. Be careful not to drop water and oil on the speakers. Caution during handling of speaker because the material of diaphragm is paper which is easily torn by impact or external force. Modifying the audio system may cause damage the speakers. If this is the case, the speakers are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

1. Remove the front door trim panel and speaker connector. Refer to FRONT DOOR .
2. Remove the front speaker (A) after loosening 4 screws.

1. Remove the rear door trim panel and speaker connector. Refer to REAR DOOR .
2. Remove the rear speaker (A) after removing 4 screws.

1. Remove the main crash pad. Refer to «CRASH PAD»(ref-675198-S32535907082014120400000) .
2. Disconnect the midrange speaker connector (A).
3. Remove the crash pad side speaker grill (A).
4. Remove the midrange speaker (A) after loosening the mounting screws.

1. Remove the rear seat forward. Refer to «REAR SEAT»(ref-675205-S03508026152014120400000) .
2. Remove the rear package tray. Refer to «PACKAGE TRAY TRIM REPLACEMENT»(ref-675198-S13475693802014120400000) .
3. Disconnect the subwoofer speaker connector (A).
4. Remove the subwoofer speaker (B) after removing 4 bolts.

1. Remove the center speaker grill (A). NOTE: Apply the protective tapes to the speaker grill and its related parts.
2. Remove the center speaker (A) after loosening the mounting screws.

1. Remove the trunk right luggage side trim. Refer to «TRUNK TRIM»(ref-675198-S12919101222014120400000) .
2. Remove the external amplifier connector (A).
3. Remove the external amplifier (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the driver airbag module. Refer to DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING .
3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to STEERING COLUMN & SHAFT .
4. Loosen the mounting screws from the rear steering wheel cover.
5. Separate the upper left steering wheel remote control switch (A) after loosening the mounting screw.
6. Remove the upper left steering wheel remote control switch (A) after disconnecting the connector.

[Lower Steering Wheel Remote Control Switch]

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the driver airbag module. (Refer to REPAIR PROCEDURES .
3. Remove the steering wheel. (Refer to «REPAIR PROCEDURES»(ref-677629-S24547220582014121100000) .
4. Loosen the mounting screws from the front steering wheel cover.
5. Remover the upper left steering wheel cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.
6. Remove the upper steering wheel remote control switch (A) after disconnecting the connector.
7. Remove the steering wheel cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws from the front steering wheel cover.
8. Remove the front steering wheel cover (B) after disconnecting the connector (A).
9. Remove the lower steering wheel remote control switch (B) after disconnecting the connector (A).

[Upper Steering Wheel Remote Control Switch]

1. Install the upper left steering wheel remote control switch and rear steering wheel cover.
2. Install the steering wheel.
3. Reconnect the remote control switch connector and airbag connectors. NOTE: Make sure the audio remote control switch and the airbag module connectors are plugged in properly.
4. Install the driver airbag module
5. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

[Lower Steering Wheel Remote Control Switch]

1. Install the lower/ upper steering wheel remote control switch and front/ rear steering wheel cover.
2. Install the steering wheel.
3. Reconnect the remote control switch connector and airbag connectors. NOTE: Make sure that the switch connector is plugged in properly.
4. Install the driver airbag module.
5. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal

1. Install the multimedia jack.
2. Connect the multimedia jack connector.
3. Install the console upper cover.
4. Install the shift lever knob. NOTE: Make sure the multimedia connector and the console upper cover connectors are plugged in properly.
