DTC P0336: CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE Isuzu Amigo II

Note. For circuit reference (Схема №8)

Circuit Description

CKP sensor produces 58X reference signal. PCM uses this information to calculate engine speed and CKP at engine speeds less than 1200 RPM. PCM compares number of 58X reference pulses to Camshaft Position (CMP) pulses. If PCM receives incorrect number of pulses, DTC P0336 will set.

Conditions required to set DTC are

  1. Engine running.
  2. Extra or missing pulse is detected between consecutive 58X reference pulses.
  3. Listed conditions detected in 10 of 100 crankshaft rotations.

Diagnostic Aids

Check for faulty connections or damaged harness. Observe a voltmeter connected to 58X CKP sensor reference circuit at PCM harness connector while moving all related harnesses and connectors. A change in voltage indicates fault location. If DTC cannot be duplicated, check scan tool FAILURE RECORDS to determine mileage since last DTC was set.
