DTC P0327: KNOCK SENSOR (KS) CIRCUIT LOW INPUT Isuzu Amigo II

Circuit Description

Knock sensor is used to detect engine detonation. Knock sensor produces and sends an AC voltage signal to the PCM to identify engine knock being detected. PCM will retard timing based on this signal. PCM may reject a signal that appears to be a false signal. If PCM still detects a high noise level, DTC P0327 will be set.

Conditions required to set DTC are

  1. Engine speed is greater than 2000 RPM.
  2. Abnormal noise level sensed for 8 seconds of 10-second period.

Diagnostic Aids

Check for faulty connections or damaged harness. Inspect for backed out terminals. Misrouted wiring harnesses. Correct any abnormal engine noises. Any audible noise that causes a knocking type noise on the engine block may be misinterpreted by knock sensor. Check for an open ignition feed. Scan tool will display knock sensor in counts, increasing with engine speed and decreasing when engine speed decreases. Check internal resistance of knock sensor to verify component or wiring type of problem in knock sensor circuit.
