DTC P0325: KNOCK SENSOR (KS) Infiniti I30 I

Testing & Diagnostics 2 illustrations ~204 words

Note. Freeze frame data will not be stored in the ECM for the knock sensor. The MIL will not light for a knock sensor malfunction.

  1. Check Input Signal Circuit - Turn ignition off. Disconnect knock sensor sub-harness connector. (Scheme 18) Verify harness continuity between knock sensor connector terminal No. 1 (White wire) and ECM terminal No. 64. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary.
  2. Leave ignition off. Verify continuity between knock sensor connector terminal No. 1 and engine ground. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors as necessary.
  3. Check Component - With ambient temperature about 77°F (25°C), measure resistance between ground and KS sensor terminal No. 2. (Scheme 19) Resistance should be 500-620 k/ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace KS sensor.
  4. Disconnect ECM wiring harness connector. Check connector pins for damage or corrosion. Check all circuit connectors for clean, tight fit and service if necessary. Loosen and retighten engine ground screws. see scheme 6 If fault is still present, replace KS sensor.
