- Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
- Remove the intake manifold (Refer to " «INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM»(/hyundai/sonata/vi-2009-2014/remont/exhaust/#engine-intake-system-and-exhaust-system-20l-except-hev) " ).
- Disconnect the knock sensor connector (A).
- Remove the installation bolt (B), and then remove the sensor from the cylinder block.
