Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - Floor Shift
Note. The shift control cable adjustment procedure must be performed in the order shown.

- Position the transaxle range selector lever in OVERDRIVE.
- Loosen the manual control lever-to-shift control cable nut.
- Position the manual control lever in OVERDRIVE. Tighten the nut.
- Check the operation of the transaxle in each transaxle range selector lever position.
Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - Column Shift
Note. The shift control adjustment procedure must be performed in the order shown.
- Position the transaxle range selector lever in OVERDRIVE. Hang a 1.4 kg (3 lb) weight on the lever.
- Loosen the manual control lever-to-shift control cable nut.
- Position the manual control lever in OVERDRIVE. Tighten the manual control lever-to-shift control cable nut.
- Remove the 1.4 kg (3 lb) weight. Check the operation of the transaxle in each transaxle range selector lever position.

- Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-233728) .
- Remove the center console. For additional information, refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE»(ref-233744) .
- Remove the ignition/shifter interlock cable from the floor shift. Disconnect the cable from the bracket. Disconnect the cable from the shift cam.
- Remove the LH lower instrument panel trim.
- Disconnect four electrical connectors.
- Remove the steering column support bracket. Remove the diagnostic electrical connector bolts. Remove the steering column support bracket bolts.
- Remove the nuts and lower the steering column.
- Disconnect the shift interlock electrical connector.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the ignition/shifter interlock cable and actuator assembly.
