Module Controlled Functions

The generic electronic module (GEM) is equipped on all vehicles and is located behind the glove compartment.

The GEM controls the following functions

  1. Battery saver
  2. Warning chime
  3. Front and rear wipers
  4. Interior lighting
  5. Door ajar warning indicator lamp
  6. Remote keyless entry (RKE) (if equipped)
  7. Power door lock system
  8. Perimeter anti-theft alarm

For the interior lamps and illuminated entry, refer to INTERIOR LIGHTING article.

For the exterior lighting, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTING article.

For the power door locks and RKE, refer to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS article.
