Note. If removing the TCM to install a new TCM, it is not necessary to remove the TCM mounting bracket. If removing the TCM to service another component, it may be necessary to remove the TCM mounting bracket.

  1. NOTE: When disconnecting the high voltage cables from the TCM, cover the TCM terminals with tape or another waterproof seal to keep moisture, water or other fluids from entering the TCM. Failure to cover and seal the TCM terminals can result in damage to the TCM.

Note. The transmission cannot be removed from the vehicle separate from the engine. Refer to engine REMOVAL to remove the transmission. Separate the transmission from the engine following the additional steps in this procedure.
