Keyless Entry System: Removal & Installation Chevrolet Uplander I

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim. Refer to «Upper Trim Pad, Outer Trim Cover, Fuse Block Access Cover Replacement - Instrument Panel»(ref-241678-S18664411922006081100000) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
2. Disengage the retaining tabs in order to remove the door lock receiver from the I/P upper trim.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the door lock receiver.

Installation Procedure

1. Connect the electrical connector to the door lock receiver.
2. Engage the retaining tabs in order to install the door lock receiver to the I/P upper trim.
3. Install the I/P upper trim. Refer to «Upper Trim Pad, Outer Trim Cover, Fuse Block Access Cover Replacement - Instrument Panel»(ref-241678-S18664411922006081100000) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
4. Program transmitter to the new receiver. Refer to «Transmitter Programming»(ref-241691-S26135067432006081100000) .

1. Insert a flat object, with a thin edge, into the notch located below the remote alarm button and separate the bottom half from the top half of the transmitter.
2. Remove the battery from the transmitter.

1. Install the battery into the transmitter with the positive side of the battery facing up.
2. Snap the front and back half of the transmitter together.
3. Ensure the transmitter halves are tight to prevent moisture from intruding into the transmitter.
