Door Adjustment - Front
- Loosen the 13 mm bolts from the upper and lower door side hinge. DO NOT remove the bolts.
- Adjust the door as needed by repositioning the door in the following manner: Up or down In or out
In and Out Adjustments
- If equipped with a power sliding door, disable the PSD system by removing the PSD 15A fuse from the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block.
- Remove the sliding door finish molding. Refer to «Headlining Trim Finish Molding Replacement»(ref-241679-S26198913172006081100000) in Interior Trim.
- Remove the sliding door trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door»(ref-241675-S31716631192006081100000) .
- Loosen the 2 vertical sliding door lower roller bracket bolts.
- Loosen the sliding door lower bracket bolts.
- Adjust the front edge of the sliding door in or out as needed.
- Tighten the loosened sliding door lower bracket bolts. Tighten: Tighten the vertical bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Loosen the sliding door upper roller bracket (1) bolts.
- Adjust the upper door in or out. Tighten: Tighten the bolts, as sequenced, to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Loosen the sliding door center roller bracket (1) bolts.
- Adjust the rear edge of the sliding door in or out as needed.
- Tighten the loosened sliding door center roller bracket bolts. Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the sliding door trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door»(ref-241675-S31716631192006081100000) .
- Install the plastic plugs on the lower front sliding door inner trim panel in order to cover the sliding door lower roller bracket bolts.
- Install the sliding door finish molding. Refer to «Headlining Trim Finish Molding Replacement»(ref-241679-S26198913172006081100000) .
- If equipped with a power sliding door, enable the PSD system by installing the PSD 15A fuse into the I/P fuse block.
Up and Down Adjustment Procedure
- If equipped with a power sliding door, disable the PSD system by removing the PSD 15A fuse from the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block.
- Remove the lower front plastic plugs on the sliding door inner trim panel in order to access the sliding door lower roller bracket to door bolts.
- Remove the close-out panel on the center rear of the sliding door inner trim panel in order to access the sliding door center roller bracket bolts.
- Loosen the sliding door lower roller bracket bolt.
- Adjust the front edge of the sliding door up or down as needed.
- Tighten the loosened sliding door lower roller bracket to door bolts. Tighten: Tighten the bolts in sequence, as shown, to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Loosen the sliding door center roller bracket bolt.
- Adjust the rear edge of the sliding door up or down as needed.
- Tighten the loosened sliding door center roller bracket bolt. Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the close-out panel on the center rear of sliding door inner trim panel in order to cover the sliding door center roller bracket bolts.
- Install the plastic plugs on the lower front sliding door inner trim panel in order to cover the sliding door lower roller bracket bolts.
- If equipped with a power sliding door, enable the PSD system by installing the PSD 15A fuse into the I/P fuse block.
Adjustment Procedure
- If equipped with a power sliding door, disable the PSD system by removing the PSD 15A fuse from the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block.
- Remove the sliding door upper garnish molding. Refer to «Garnish Molding Replacement - Sliding Door»(ref-241679-S03390042152006081100000) in Interior Trim.
- Loosen both bolts on the upper roller bracket.
- Adjust the front top edge of the sliding door in or out, as needed.
- Verify the current adjustment.
- Loosen both bolts on the lower bracket.
- Adjust the bottom edge of the sliding door in or out, as needed.
- Secure the bolts on the lower roller bracket. Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Secure the bolts on the upper roller bracket. Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Verify the current adjustment.
- Install the upper garnish molding to the sliding door. Refer to «Garnish Molding Replacement - Sliding Door»(ref-241679-S03390042152006081100000) in Interior Trim.
- If equipped with a power sliding door, enable the PSD system by installing the PSD 15A fuse into the I/P fuse block.
Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door
- If equipped with a power sliding door, disable the PSD system by removing the PSD 15A fuse from the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block.
- Remove the tail lamp assembly. Refer to «Tail Lamp Assembly and/or Backup, Sidemarker, Stop, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement»(ref-241674-S35712516022006081100000) .
- Disconnect the rear center roller bracket (4) from the door by removing the pin (1) and slide the door forward.
- Remove the cover (4) at the rear roller assembly (3) behind the tail lamp held on with one TORX screw.
- Remove the sliding door center track cover. Refer to «Center Track Cover Replacement - Sliding Door»(ref-241675-S29259346872006081100000) .
- Remove the cable from the rear roller (1) to supply enough cable to remove the center roller bracket (3). Disconnect cables from the center roller bracket and remove the center roller bracket from the track.
- Reinstall the cable (1) to rear roller and guide (3).
- With tech standing at the center of the rear wheel, grab both cables (1, 2) and pull cables toward each other. Note the barrels on the end of the cables will not pull past each other, 25.4 mm (1 in) apart.
- Hold front cable extended and stationary and pull rear cable outward and hold. Release only the rear cable, while maintaining tension and in the same position as noted for the front cable. Check for limp cables.
- Pull both cables again. The cables should now be able to pull past each other. Slowly release cables. The barrels at the end of the cables should be overlapping 25.4 mm (1 in).
- If barrels do not overlap one inch after relieving tension, repeat steps 8 thru 10 until they overlap.
- Reinstall the cables (3) to the center roller bracket (1) and position the roller bracket into the track, while maintaining the tension on the rear cable.
- Move the center roller bracket toward the front of the vehicle until the roller bracket stops in the track, while keeping tension on the rear cable (2) with the other hand.
- While keeping outward tension on the rear cable and holding down the center roller bracket (1) move the roller bracket rearward and listen for an audible click to come from the clutch housing. Continue to move roller bracket rearward, in one motion, release the rear cable and finish pushing roller bracket into the track bumper.
- Move the roller bracket forward above wheelhouse.
- Hold the roller bracket downward, pull the rear cable outward from inside track and release. The cable should snap quickly back into the track. Cable is now properly tensioned.
- Move the roller bracket forward to the position where the sliding door pin was removed.
- Install the rear roller cover and screw. Tighten: Tighten the screw to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the sliding door center track cover. Refer to «Center Track Cover Replacement - Sliding Door»(ref-241675-S29259346872006081100000) .
- Install the tail lamp assembly. Refer to «Tail Lamp Assembly and/or Backup, Sidemarker, Stop, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement»(ref-241674-S35712516022006081100000) .
- Install the door center roller bracket (2) to the body roller bracket (4) by installing the pin (1).
- Close and latch the door manually.
- If equipped with a power sliding door, enable the PSD system by installing the PSD 15A fuse into the I/P fuse block.
- Operate the door and verify the adjustment.
