Fuel line, draining

Drain the fuel line. See Draining the fuel injection system .

Loosen the fuel line at the quick-coupling on the fuel rail.

Radiator and engine, draining coolant

Scheme 20: Removing the battery and battery shelf

Remove the battery.

Note. If the car has cruise control, remove the vacuum hose and the connector before the vacuum pump is detached.

Remove the screws from the battery shelf.

Release the cable harness from the clamp.

Remove the hose clamp from the battery shelf.

Draining the coolant

  1. Remove the front air baffle
  2. Open the nipple on the engine
  3. Drain the coolant into a container
  4. Close the nipple
  5. Remove the screw that holds the inlet pipe for the coolant pump to the cylinder block.
