Remove the wheel.

  1. Secure the control arms down. Use retaining straps
  2. Remove the screws for the shock absorber mounting
  3. Pull the shock absorber from its mounting
  4. Release the retaining strap.
WARNINGThere is a risk of injury, do not place your hands in the area surrounding the shock absorber when releasing the retaining strap.
  1. Install the retaining strap and secure the lower control arm slightly against the jacking point
  2. Remove the lateral link screw at the spindle
  3. Slacken off the screw at the front mounting slightly. Turn the lateral link downwards.

Remove

  1. the tie rod outer mounting.

Turn the tie rod upwards.

Remove the screw for the lower outer control arm mounting.

Remove

  1. the wheel
  2. the ABS sensor and the ABS line from the bracket on the wheel spindle
  3. the brake caliper mounting screws.

Hang up the ABS line and the brake caliper. Use a piece of wire.

Release the parking brake adjuster. See Release the Handbrake Adjuster .

Remove

  1. the locating pin for the brake disc
  2. the brake disc
  3. the return spring at the expander
  4. the expander. Lift the brake shoe slightly. Grip the expander. Pull the expander outwards.

Unhook the expander from the metal bracket.

Remove

  1. the guide sleeve for the cable sleeve. Apply a screwdriver between the guide sleeve lug and wheel arch. Pry apart slightly to remove the sleeve.
  1. Remove the screw for the drive shaft mounting
  2. Remove the screw from the upper outer mounting for the control arm
  3. Press off the wheel spindle. Use tool «9512923»(ref-403953-S20692713782011061000000) and «9997054»(ref-403953-S18418819512011061500000) , «9997031»(ref-403953-S33966206872011061500000) , «9997030»(ref-403953-S34759695422011061500000) together with threaded rod «9997039»(ref-403953-S06576002012011061500000) . NOTE: Only press until the bushing releases from the splined joint.

Press in the drive shaft and remove the spindle.

  1. Install the hydraulic cylinder. Use tool «9512923»(ref-403953-S20692713782011061000000) with «9997054»(ref-403953-S18418819512011061500000) , «9997035»(ref-403953-S17269468122011061500000) , «9997036»(ref-403953-S22661116912011061500000) and «9997039»(ref-403953-S06576002012011061500000)
  2. Pull the bushing out.
