Remove the soundproofing panel. See Soundproofing panel, replacing
Disconnect the connector from the sensor.
Work the sensor loose.
TXV-valve and connector pipe, Receiver drier
Volvo has introduced new pipes, txv-valves and connector pipes for the receiver drier on the climate control.
Scheme 6
Modifications consist of
- connecting the pipe to the txv-valve
- receiver drier
- txv-valve
- connector pipe for the receiver drier.
The new txv-valve and the new receiver drier must not be combined with the old type of pipe due to the risk of leakage.
When replacing the receiver drier on cars manufactured before week 936, the outgoing connector pipe from the old receiver drier must be mounted on the new receiver drier.
The new pipe cannot be connected to the txv-valve/receiver drier on cars manufactured before week 936 unless the new txv-valve/receiver drier has been installed.
When replacing the condenser, the receiver drier is supplied. Transfer the existing outgoing connector pipe from the old receiver drier to the new receiver drier if the old pipes to and from the txv-valve remain.
Vacuum pumping refrigerant

- During vacuum pumping, the vacuum pump can be connected to both the high pressure (HP) and low pressure (LP) sides
- Operate the vacuum pump for at least 50 minutes.
Visual and physical check, Air conditioning system
Large and slow leaks will often result in air conditioning (A/C) compressor oil being drawn out with the refrigerant.
A visual inspection can localize the point where the oil gathers and identify the source of the leak.
- Check the system for corrosion which could cause refrigerant to leak
- Check that there are no loose components.
