DTC P1530: IGNITION TIMING ADJUSTMENT SWITCH CKT MALFUNCTION Suzuki X-90 I

  1. Locate test connector. See TEST CONNECTOR LOCATION table. Ensure test connector terminals are not grounded or jumpered. Repair as necessary. If test connector is okay, go to next step. TEST CONNECTOR LOCATION Application Location X-90 Next To Coolant Recovery Bottle
  2. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and test switch terminal (Blue/Red wire) of test connector. If reading is 10-14 volts, check for an intermittent problem. See «TESTS W/O CODES»(ref-26207) article. If reading is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM harness connectors. Turn ignition on. On models with 3-speed automatic or manual transmission, measure resistance between ground and PCM harness connector "C", terminal No. 6 (Blue/Red wire). On models with 4-speed automatic transmission, measure resistance between ground and PCM harness connector "D", terminal No. 18 (Blue/Red wire). If continuity exists, repair Blue/Red wire for short to ground. If no continuity exists, replace PCM. Retest system.
