REMOVAL

  1. Set the front wheels in straight ahead position.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  3. Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work.
  4. Remove the driver's airbag module assembly. Preparation tool: TORX® T30 Loosen the TORX® bolts located on the sides of the steering wheel. Disconnect the horn harness and airbag connector and remove the airbag module assembly. Ref. to «PROCEDURE»(ref-371944-S34749869132010091900000) , Airbag Connector.
  5. Remove the steering wheel. CAUTION: If the steering wheel has been removed, make sure that the roll connector is not turned from the original position. Disconnect the connector and remove the nut. Put alignment marks and remove the steering wheel using a steering puller.
  6. Remove the steering column cover. Lower the lever of the steering column. Release the claws and remove the screws, then detach the steering column lower cover. Separate the steering column upper cover and steering upper cover, and remove the steering column upper cover.
  7. Remove the wiper switch assembly. Disconnect the connector from the wiper switch. Release the claws, and pull out the wiper switch assembly. CAUTION: Do not press the claws with excessive force. They may be damaged.
  8. Remove the combination switch (light). Disconnect the connector. Remove the screws and detach the combination switch (light).

INSTALLATION

CAUTIONRefer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag module. Ref. to CAUTION , General Description. Do not allow harness and connectors to interfere or get tangled up with other parts.
  1. Align the center position of the roll connector. Ref. to «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-371944-S42660943702010091900000) , Roll Connector.
  2. Align the alignment marks on the steering wheel and steering shaft.
  3. Install each part in the reverse order of removal. Tightening torque: Combination switch (light): 3.5 N.m (0.36 kgf-m, 2.6 ft-lb) Driver's airbag module: 10 N.m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.4 ft-lb) Steering wheel: 39 N.m (4.0 kgf-m, 28.8 ft-lb) Clearance between column cover and steering wheel: 2 - 4 mm (0.08 - 0.16 in)

Scheme 44: INSPECTION
  1. Disconnect the combination switch (light) connector.
  2. Measure the resistance between combination switch (light) connector terminals. Preparation tool: Circuit tester
  3. Replace the combination switch (light) if the inspection result is not within the standard value.

Note. The light control sensor is integrated with the sunload sensor.

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the light control sensor. CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the sensors and interior trims when removing. Release the claws and clips, then detach the side speaker cover (RH). Push out the light control sensor by pressing the left and right claws. Disconnect the connector, and remove the light control sensor.

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONDo not perform work with wet hands.

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the clips and remove the air intake duct. (When removing the headlight RH).
  3. Remove the front bumper face assembly. Ref. to «REMOVAL»(ref-371913-S11677829322010091900000) , Front Bumper.
  4. Remove the fender cover assembly UPR. Remove the clip. Release the claws of the fender cover assembly UPR by pulling it forward and remove the fender cover.
  5. Remove the headlight assembly. Remove the bolts and clips, and pull out the headlight assembly to the front of the vehicle. Disconnect the connector and remove the headlight assembly. Headlight connector RH Headlight connector LH

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque

Headlight ASSY: 7.5 N.m (0.76 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

Note. When installing the back cover, turn it to the position shown in the figure to lock while pressing the entire periphery of the cover.

  1. Before checking the fog light beam level, be sure of the following: The area around the fog light has not sustained any accident, damage or other type of deformation. Vehicle is parked on a level surface. The inflation pressure of tires is correct. Vehicle's fuel tank is fully filled.
  2. Bounce the vehicle several times to normalize the suspension.
  3. Make certain that someone is seated in the driver's seat.
  4. Place the vehicle with the front end facing to the measurement panel. AIMING SPECIFICATION h mm (in) at 3 m (10 ft) 40 (1.58)
  5. Adjust the fog light beam. Remove the clips and turn over the front end of front mud guard. Adjust the beam direction by turning the aiming screw from the bottom of front bumper face.

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the clips and turn over the front end of front mud guard.
  3. From the bottom of bumper face, remove the front fog light bulb. Disconnect the connector. Remove the bulb.
CAUTIONAfter connecting the connector, make sure that the bulb is locked securely.

Tightening torque

Rear combination light ASSY: 7.5 N.m (0.76 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Release the lock and remove the bulb inspection cover of trunk room trim.
  3. Remove the bulb socket and back-up light bulb.

  3. Remove the bulb socket and back-up light bulb.

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the overhead console assembly. Push and open the rear end of the overhead console lid, and remove the screws. Remove the clips and pull out the overhead console to disconnect the connectors.
  3. Release the claws, then detach the spot map light cover and bulb.

Daytime running resistor: 13 N.m (1.33 kgf-m, 9.6 ft-lb)

From behind the bumper, release the claws and remove the reflex reflector.

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the door switch. Remove the screws, and pull out the door switch. Disconnect the connector and remove the door switch.
