EGR System Inspection
Check self-diagnostic system for DTC(s). See appropriate BASIC TESTING article. Since many computer-controlled and monitored components set a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if they malfunction, also perform procedures in appropriate TESTS W/CODES article.
System Test
Remove fuel filler cap. Disconnect vent hose between charcoal canister and fuel tank. Blow air toward canister. Air should flow freely into canister. Blow air toward fuel tank. Air should flow into tank with a slight resistance from 2-way valve.
