- REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL Separate the wire harness. Remove the 10 bolts and remove the cowl top panel outer.

- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY Remove the bolt and remove the vacuum hose clamp. Disconnect the oil control valve connector. Remove the bolt and oil control valve.

- INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY Measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 20 °C (68 °F) 6.9 to 7.9 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the oil control valve assembly. Check the operation. Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check the movement of the valve. OK Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) voltage applied Valve moves to the left as shown in the illustration Battery positive (+) voltage cut off Valve moves to the right as shown in the illustration If the result is not as specified, replace the oil control valve. NOTE: If the valve cannot return properly because of foreign matter intrusion, a small amount of leakage in the advanced direction may occur and a DTC may be output.

- INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring on the camshaft oil control valve assembly. Install the camshaft oil control valve assembly with the bolt. Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) Connect the camshaft oil control valve assembly connector. Install the vacuum hose clamp with the bolt. Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)
- INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL Install the cowl top panel outer with the 10 bolts. Torque: 6.0 N*m (61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf) Install the wire harness.
