Programming and Setup: Removal & Installation Saab 9-7X I

Communication Interface Module Replacement

If the OnStar® communication interface module is replaced, the setup procedure needs to be performed. Please refer to OnStar Reconfiguration .

Each of the following service procedures require programming or setup procedures to be performed on the digital radio receiver.

Radio Replacement

If the digital radio receiver is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Perform the digital radio receiver setup. Refer to Digital Radio Receiver Setup .

After replacing the driver door module (DDM) or the passenger door module (PDM), perform the programing procedure. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .

EBCM Replacement

If the electronic brake control module (EBCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. EBCM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-268114-S34948545622007101800000) .
  2. Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool Tire Size calibration function.

Yaw Rate Sensor/Lateral Accelerometer Replacement

Replace the EBCM after replacing the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer, and reprogram EBCM.

  1. EBCM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-268114-S34948545622007101800000) .
  2. Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool Tire Size calibration function.

The following service procedures require either a programming or a setup event performed for a complete repair.

ECM Replacement

If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. The ECM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-268114-S34948545622007101800000) .
  2. The CKP Variation Learn-Refer to «Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn»(ref-268121-S42850641212007101800000) .

Setup for Component Replacement

The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

If any of the following components are replaced, a CKP Variation Learn Procedure must be performed. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .

  1. Engine replacement
  2. Any engine repair that disturbs the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
  3. CKP sensor

The garage door opener (GDO) programming and setup procedures must be performed after replacement. Refer to Garage Door Opener Programming - Universal on how to program the GDO.

Each of the following service procedures may require programming or setup procedures to be performed on the HVAC control module or HVAC actuators.

HVAC Control Module Replacement

If the HVAC control module is replaced, an automatic re-calibration of all the actuators will occur. No additional procedures are necessary.

Actuator Replacement

If an actuator is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Re-Calibrating Actuators-Refer to Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary) .

Each of the following service procedures may require programming or setup procedures to be performed on the auxiliary HVAC control module or HVAC actuators.

Auxiliary HVAC Control Module Replacement

If the auxiliary HVAC control module is replaced no additional procedures are necessary.

If an actuator is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Re-Calibrating Actuators-Refer to Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary) .

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement

If the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. The PCM reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-268114-S34948545622007101800000) .
  2. The Crankshaft Position (CKP) Variation Learn-Refer to «Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn»(ref-268121-S42850641212007101800000) .

The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

If any of the following components are replaced, a crankshaft position (CKP) variation learn procedure must be performed. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .

  1. Engine replacement
  2. Any engine repair that disturbs the crankshaft position CKP sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
  3. CKP sensor

Each of the following service procedures requires programming or setup procedures to be performed on the radio.

If the radio is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Reprogram the radio. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .

Transmission Control Module (TCM) Replacement

If the TCM is replaced, TCM Reprogramming must be performed. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
