Circuit/System Description
The parking heater controller monitors the system voltage to ensure that the voltage stays within the proper range.
Description and Operation
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater controller is connected to the vehicle power supply through the parking heater fuses.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater controller monitors the coolant temperature to ensure that the temperature stays within the proper range. If the overtemperature sensor detects temperature greater than 125°C (257°F), it will turn off the controller.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater uses an auxiliary heater glow plug to increase the temperature in the combustion chamber to a temperature that is necessary to ignite the air fuel mixture. Once a stable flame has formed, the glow plug will turn OFF.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater uses a parking heater blower motor to supply oxygen onto the combustion chamber so the air fuel mixture will ignite when the glow plug is activated.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater uses the parking heater water pump motor to circulate coolant while the engine is not running.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking coolant heater uses a fuel pump to supply fuel to the combustion chamber.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater does not heat up instantly. It must go through a self test and start up procedure before normal operation. The parking heater depends on the fuel pump to deliver enough fuel in a timely manner. The electronic control module inside the heater determines when to turn on the fuel pump and the glow plug by monitoring coolant temperature and combustion temperature. The combustion sensor disables the glow plug once combustion is established and aborts the startup process if combustion is not established.

FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater uses the parking heater coolant sensor to measure the coolant temperature.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The fuel operated heater uses a combustion sensor to monitor combustion temperature.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater uses an overheat sensor to protect the module for over temperature condition.
FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The internal fault detection is handled inside the control module. No external circuits are involved.

FUEL OPERATED HEATER DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The parking heater work independently of the engine and thus offer a double plus: preheating the vehicle passenger compartment and the engine. The parking heater is integrated in the water cooling system of the engine. The thermal energy gained is absorbed by the vehicles own heat exchanger and distributed into the interior through their existing air vents. The engine is warmed up with the residual heat in the water cooling system of the engine.

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION
Excessive and growling noise can occur from AC compressor/AC system when the refrigerant level is too low in the AC loop. This can be checked by activating/deactivating compressor in engine rpm range idle-2000.
