Check: engine speed sensor function — variant 6 Peugeot Expert I

Power unit ~124 words

ECU information available

Actuators test: no

Parameter measurements: yes

Tooth signal test: yes

Characterised by: loss of synchronisation

Checks to be carried out if fault is present

Loss of synchronisation

conditions under which the fault appearschecks to be made conditions for checking
engine running inconsistency of engine speed sensor signal between terminals 30 and 11 of the ECUcheck: - check the condition of the toothed wheel and the sensor electrode control unit disconnected, operate the starter: - 3 V ≤ U peak ≤ 14 V between terminals 30 and 11 on the control unit 55 V.NR control unit disconnected, ignition off: - 300 Ω ≤ R ≤ 450 Ω between terminals 30 and 11 on the control unit 55 V.NR - presence of earth at terminal 19 on the 55 V.NR connector

Check(s) to be carried out if no fault found

Control unit disconnected, operate the starter, check:

- 3V ≤ U peak ≤ 14 V, (between terminals 30 and 11 of the 55V.NR connector)

With the engine speed sensor disconnected, check:

- 300 Ω ≤ R ≤ 450 Ω between terminals 2 and 1 of the engine speed sensor

Presence of earth at terminal 3 on the 3 V.MR connector

Insulation of wire(s) A - B

Check the condition of the toothed wheel and the sensor electrode
