Principles of operation
The Shift-Lock function is a safety system which immobilises the gear selection lever in position P if the driver does not press the brake pedal
Unlocking of the gear selector lever

Switch on the ignition
Depress the brake pedal
Move the gear selection lever
Unlocking of the gear selector lever impossible
Causes
- Battery voltage
- Electromagnet on the gear selection lever unit
- Multifunction switch
- Automatic gearbox ECU
- Electrical harness
- Brake pedal switch
Unlocking of the gear selector lever (back-up mode)
Remove the shaped ring (1)
Release the Shift-Lock using a screwdriver
Operate the selector lever to exit position P
