Remove

Important. With deformations in the area of the bulkhead/steering crossmember or with impacts against the steering column assembly, the steering column assembly must be checked for damage.

1. 1. Remove steering column assembly

Inspect

Important. Catch hooks of wound springs must latch into grooves (arrow)

2. 2. Check 2x wound spring (1) for correct seating

Important. The steering column assembly must be replaced if shear plates are loose or displaced.

3. 3. Check 2x shear plates (2) for correct seating

Important. The steering column assembly must be replaced if steering shaft bearing is difficult to move or damage can be felt.

4. 4. Check steering shaft (3) for ease of movement. • Turn steering shaft
