Program Memory, Remove and Install (16 LZ2)
Remove engine control unit - see operation "Engine Control Unit, Remove and Install".
Remove program memory cover (1) from engine control unit. Release program memory (2) and lift out.
Do not open program memory or touch plug contacts.
Check plug contacts for damage.
Recesses in program memory and socket in engine control unit must match.
Insert program memory - retaining clips must engage. Attach program memory cover on engine control unit.
When replacing engine control unit and using old program memory: enter specifications - part numbers and alpha code - of removed engine control unit on sticker of Aftersales engine control unit.
Version with immobiliser: activate "immobiliser" function in new engine control unit using TECH1/TECH1A - see corresponding Checking Procedures.
Install engine control unit - see operation "Engine Control Unit, Remove and Install".
