Trouble-shooting: Nominal Value: Cause of Trouble:

Before trouble-shooting is started the ignition basic adjustment must be checked.

For this mode F5 must be selected.

Ignition basic adjustment:

· Engine idling at operating temperature (oil temperature > 80 °C/176 °)

· Engine speed must be between 750 and 1000 1/min

· Remove basic adjustment coding plug (necessary only when adjusting without TECH 1)

· The dwell angle must be 10 °CA BTDC (comparison of the values of the Opel Tester with TDC sensor with TECH 1 display) or the mark on the pulley and the pin on the oil pump housing (with stroboscope) must align.

If necessary the basic adjustment can be corrected by turning the ignition distributor.

· Install basic adjustment coding plug again

At an engine speed < 750 1/min the DWELL ANGLE of ignition coil

is not updated. · Checking of Hall sensor (see Test Step 04)

TECH 1 indicates this with the following display: · Oil temperature sensor defective, therefore

operation in wrong block learn possible
