Thread of oxygen sensor is coated with Special Grease (lubricating compound) to prevent seizing.

The special grease consists of liquid graphite and glass beads.

The graphite is burnt away. The glass beads remain between the threads and prevent the oxygen sensor from seizing.

Now oxygen sensors supplied by P&A are already coated with this Special Grease. If a sensor is used again, coat thread with Special Grease Catalogue No. 19 48 602 (5 613 095).
