Check coolant level and correct if necessary. The coolant level in the compensation tank is not permitted to drop below the "Kalt" (cold) mark when the engine is cold.
Note. Coolant can be topped up quickly using “Opel Premix Long Life Coolant and Anti-freeze”. The coolant concentrate must be mixed with tap water in the ratio of 1:1.
Coolant filling is designed ex works for antifreeze protection to approx. -28 °C.
Depending on the regional situation it may be necessary to adjust the coolant and antifreeze mixture to lower temperatures.

Insignia a 28 Net, Check and Correct Coolant Level
In vehicles with a transparent coolant compensation tank, the marker on the outside of the tank is valid. In vehicles with a black coolant compensation tank, the following must be observed:
- Top up coolant to the inner marker (arrow), then add either 200 ml of coolant,
- or raise the coolant level by 11 mm,
- or prepare a gauge: apply a cable tie as shown to a piece of stiff wire and cut to a length of 58 mm. Then suspend the gauge in the coolant compensation tank and raise the coolant level until the coolant touches the cable tie.
Note. The markers are applicable to a cold engine with a cooling system that has already been bled. Where necessary, bleed the cooling system and then allow the engine to cool completely
