Lower Control Arm Replacement Opel Agila B

Remove

1. 1. Raise vehicle to suitable working height
2. 2. Remove front wheel from vehicle • Remove wheel trim cover – Pull off • Remove 4x bolt
3. 3. Raise vehicle
4. 4. Remove splash panel from vehicle • For right side, remove 2x bolt (1), 4x clip (2) • For left side, remove bolt, 4x clip

Note. Illustration shows right side.

5. 5. For vehicles with manual transmission, remove lower longitudinal impact absorber (1) from vehicle • Remove 4x bolt
6. 6. For vehicles with automatic transmission, remove lower longitudinal impact absorber, right side from vehicle • Remove 4x bolt

Note. A lower longitudinal impact absorber is not installed to the left side of the vehicle.

7. 7. Release ball joint for lower control arm from steering knuckle • Remove nut (3), washer (2), bolt (1)

8. 8. Remove lower control arm (1) from front axle body • Remove 2x bolt

Install

9. 9. Install new lower control arm (1) to front axle body • Install 2x new bolt; do not tighten bolts at this stage

10. 10. Secure ball joint for lower control arm to steering knuckle • Install bolt (1) • Install washer (2), new nut (3) 60 Nm

Important. The bolt must be installed from front of vehicle (arrowed) and face towards the rear of vehicle.

11. 11. Lower vehicle to suitable working height
12. 12. Install front wheel to vehicle • Install 4x bolt; do not tighten at this stage
13. 13. Lower vehicle
14. 14. Secure front wheel to vehicle • Secure 4x bolt 85 Nm • Install wheel trim cover – Push on
15. 15. Bounce vehicle up and down several times to stabilize suspension
16. 16. Raise vehicle

Important. Allow the vehicle suspension to settle to the correct ride height before securing 2x bolt.

17. 17. Secure lower control arm to front axle body • Secure 2x bolt 95 Nm
18. 18. For vehicles with manual transmission, install lower longitudinal impact absorber (1) to vehicle • Install 4x bolt 55 Nm
19. 19. For vehicles with automatic transmission, install lower longitudinal impact absorber, right side to vehicle • Install 4x bolt 55 Nm

Note. A lower longitudinal impact absorber is not installed to the left side of the vehicle.

20. 20. Install splash panel to vehicle • For right side, install 4x clip (2), 2x bolt (1) • For left side, install 4x clip, bolt
