The power window system consists of the following:
- Main switch assembly (driver side).
- Sub switch (passenger side).
- Driver window regulator.
- Passenger window regulator.
Operational Use
The driver side switch can be operated in two modes; either to momentarily open or close the window; or to use the automatic feature, which allows the window to be fully powered up or down.
When the driver side switch is pushed fully down, the auto down switch (5) is turned on. A control module (6), in the main switch, energises the relay (7), thereby enabling the window to move fully up or down automatically. The control module cuts off the operation after a certain time by de-energising the relay (7).
All the windows, apart from the driver window, can be locked in position by pushing the power window lock switch (8). The sub switch is now unable to be earthed, preventing the passenger window being opened.
The driver has two switches in the door armrest to operate either the driver or the front passenger side windows.
The sub switch, in the passenger door armrest, only operates the passenger side window.
