Outer Lower A-Pillar Partial Replace Opel Agila B

General Notes

Remove fender before beginning this repair (see section “Fender - Remove and install or replace”).

Remove cowl side outer member before beginning this repair (see section “wheel housing brace - replace”).

Remove

  1. 1. Mark cut lines with the dimensions shown in the graphic (A, B).
  2. 2. Make cuts (A, B).
  1. 3. Drill out welding spots (A, B).

Install

Important. Observe the instructions given in the section “Bodywork repair through structural adhesive”. Leave 50 mm around the continuous MIG-brazed seams free of adhesive.

  1. 4. Use the old part cut out as a template to trim the new A-Pillar Panel to size.
  2. 5. Apply corrosion protection adhesive system (structural adhesive).
  3. 6. Fit in A-Pillar Panel with adjoining parts.

Note. Observe gap width tolerances of adjoining parts.

  1. 7. Prepare new front fender bracket. Make 1x slot (5x18mm).
  2. 8. Fit in front fender bracket with A-Pillar Panel.

Note. Fit in fender and front door to adjust and position the front fender bracket.

  1. 9. Weld in A-Pillar panel.
  2. 10. MIG-braze front fender bracket.
  1. 11. MIG-braze A-Pillar panel.
  2. 12. Grind MIG brazed seams.
  3. 13. Seal body, weld and brazing seams.

Note. Observe corrosion protection measures for seam seals.

  1. 14. Apply underseal.

Note. Observe corrosion protection measures for PVC protection.

  1. 15. Seal cavity.

Note. Observe protective wax corrosion protection measures.
