Remove

  1. 1. Mark cut location (A, B, C) with the dimensions given in the graphic.
  2. 2. Make cuts (A, B, C).
  1. 3. Bend open metal tab (arrow).
  1. 4. Drill out welding spots (A, B, C).
  2. 5. Warm up area (max. 170°C) and detach adhesive (D).

Install

  1. 6. Use the old part cut out as a template to trim the new B-Pillar panel to size.
  2. 7. Apply PUR Glas Adhesive to remaining NVH-Element.

Important. Observe the instructions given in the section “Bodywork repair through structural adhesive“. Leave 50 mm around the continuous MIG-brazed seams free of adhesive.

  1. 8. Apply corrosion protection adhesive system (structural adhesive) when B-Pillar Panel is not yet fixed in.
  2. 9. Fit in B-Pillar panel and adjust it.

Note. Observe gap width tolerances.

  1. 10. Bend in metal tab (arrow).
  1. 11. Weld in B-Pillar Panel.
  1. 12. MIG-braze B-Pillar Panel.
  2. 13. Grind MIG brazed seams.
  3. 14. Seal body, weld and brazing seams.

Note. Observe corrosion protection measures for seam seals.

  1. 15. Apply underseal.

Note. Observe corrosion protection measures for PVC protection.

  1. 16. Seal cavity.

Note. Observe protective wax corrosion protection measures.
