Selector Cable (Selector Lever Side) Installation Note

  1. Verify that the selector lever is in the P position.
  2. Verify that the manual shaft is in the P position. see scheme 19: Setting Manual Shaft To P Position
  3. Press in the lock piece in the direction of the arrow (1) shown in the figure, press in the safety lock in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure, and lock it. see scheme 20: Removing Selector Cable (Selector Lever Side)

Scheme 1254: Cable Outer End (Transaxle Side) Installation Note
  1. Assemble the cable outer end (transaxle side) to the bracket so that the marking is in the area of the arrow shown in the figure. (Scheme 1254): Locating Marking Area Between Cable Outer End And Bracket

Scheme 1255

Scheme 1255: SELECTOR LEVER INSPECTION
  1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
  2. Perform the following procedures to inspect the selector lever. If there is any malfunction, adjust the selector cable. (See «AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-615439-S02571559392014051000000) ). Verify that the selector lever can be operated as shown in the figure. Verify that the selector lever can be operated smoothly and moderately. (Scheme 1255): Checking Selector Lever Operation

Shift-Lock System Inspection

  1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  2. Shift the selector lever to the P position.
  3. Verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted from P to R position when the brake pedal is released. If it can be verified, go to the next step. If not as verified, inspect the following parts: Shift-lock solenoid (See «SHIFT-LOCK SYSTEM INSPECTION»(ref-615439-S03352018522014051000000) ). Not P position switch (See «NOT P POSITION SWITCH INSPECTION»(ref-615439-S42694762962014051000000) ). Brake switch (See «BRAKE SWITCH INSPECTION»(ref-615413-S31954500032014051000000) ). Start stop unit (See «START STOP UNIT INSPECTION»(ref-615426-S02790603172014051000000) ). PCM (See «PCM INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-615396-S32068462542014051000000) ).
  4. Verify that the selector lever can be shifted from P to R position when the brake pedal is depressed.

Shift-Lock Solenoid Inspection

Note. The shift-lock solenoid is built into the selector lever component.
