- Measure valve stem diameter, valve margin and valve length. If not within specification, replace valve. See «VALVES & VALVE SPRINGS SPECIFICATIONS TABLE»(ref-48846-S32633499772001011500000) .
- Slide valve into guide bore. Measure distance between tip of valve stem and surface of cylinder head where spring seat is installed (measure without spring seat installed). This is valve installed height. See «VALVE INSTALLED HEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS TABLE»(ref-48846-S36824233272001011500000) .
- Valve installed height is okay if within normal range. If installed height is within serviceable range, insert a shim between valve spring seat and spring (outer spring on B2200). If installed height exceeds discard specification, replace cylinder head.
