Removal (B2200): Overview Mazda 626 GD

  1. On PFI models, release residual pressure from fuel system. See «FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-48846-S07312341182001011500000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. On all models, disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Remove air cleaner, cooling fan and radiator shroud. Remove timing belt. See «TIMING BELT»(ref-48846-S29964913352001011500000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Remove intake manifold. Remove exhaust manifold. See «INTAKE MANIFOLD»(ref-48846-S20892720252001011500000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION and «EXHAUST MANIFOLD»(ref-48846-S35976872852001011500000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Disconnect all necessary electrical connectors, vacuum hoses, coolant hoses, fuel hoses and control cables which may interfere with removal procedure. Remove distributor cap, spark plug wires and distributor. CAUTION: Loosen cylinder head bolts in proper sequence to prevent cylinder head warpage or cracking.
  5. Remove cylinder head bolts in proper sequence, in 2-3 steps. (Схема №2) Remove cylinder head and gasket.
