PCM Connector Connection Note

CAUTIONDo not touch the PCM connector terminal. The terminal is extremely thin and can be damaged by touching it. If the PCM connector is inserted at an angle and the lever is moved, the connector could be damaged. Verify that the PCM connector is inserted straight.

  1. Set the PCM connector to the position shown in the figure. (Scheme 229): Locking PCM Connector
  2. Align the PCM connector straight against the connection surface. (Scheme 230): Aligning PCM Connector Straight Against Connection Surface
  3. Insert the PCM connector straight and press it in until the lever moves up naturally. (Front harness-side connector) (Scheme 231): Pressing PCM Connector Straight In
  4. Press the PCM connector lever until a click sound is heard. (Scheme 232): Locking PCM Connector

Without Using the M-MDS

Note. Because the PCM uses a waterproof connector, the inspection for the voltage/wave pattern cannot be performed. The following values are for reference.

Using The M-MDS

Note. PIDs for the following parts are not available on this model. Go to the appropriate part inspection page. Intake CMP sensor and Exhaust CMP sensor (See CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0] .) Main relay (See RELAY INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0] .)

Scheme 257: Using The M-MDS
  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2. (Scheme 257): Identifying DLC-2 Location
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Measure the PID value. If PID value is not within the specification, follow the instructions in Action column. NOTE: The PID/DATA MONITOR function monitors the calculated value of the input/output signals in the PCM. Therefore, an output device malfunction is not directly indicated as a malfunction of the monitored value for the output device. If a monitored value of an output device is out of specification, inspect the monitored value of the input device related to the output control.
