Scheme 49
Vehicle speed signals are received from the combination meter assembly and used to cancel "Bluetooth" function operation.
The radio receiver assembly recognizes that the vehicle is being driven and makes it impossible to connect or register a "Bluetooth" device while driving.
HINT
- A voltage of 12 V or 5 V is output from each ECU and then input to the combination meter assembly. The signal is changed to a pulse signal at the transistor in the combination meter assembly. Each ECU controls the respective system based on the pulse signal.
- If a short occurs in any of the ECUs or in the wire harness connected to an ECU, all systems in the following diagram will not operate normally.

Scheme 51
This circuit sends an operation signal from the steering pad switch assembly to the radio receiver assembly.
If there is an open in this circuit, the audio system cannot be operated using the steering pad switch assembly.
If there is a short in this circuit, the same condition as when a switch is continuously depressed occurs.
Therefore, the radio receiver assembly cannot be operated using the steering pad switch assembly, and also the radio receiver assembly itself cannot function.

Power is supplied to the radio receiver assembly and steering pad switch assembly illumination when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.
Scheme 53

If there is a short in a speaker circuit, the stereo component amplifier assembly detects the short and stops output to the speakers.
Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly or speakers.
The radio receiver assembly sends a sound signal to the stereo component amplifier assembly through this circuit.
The sound signal that has been sent is amplified by the stereo component amplifier assembly, and then is sent to the speakers.
If there is an open or short in the circuit, sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly, DCM (telematics transceiver)*1 or speakers.

This circuit sends a signal to the stereo component amplifier assembly to mute noise. Because of that, the noise produced by changing the sound source ceases.
If there is an open in this circuit, noise can be heard from the speakers when changing the sound source.
If there is a short in this circuit, even though the stereo component amplifier assembly is functioning, no sound, or only an extremely faint sound, can be heard.
Scheme 57
The DCM (telematics transceiver) sends a mute signal to the stereo component amplifier assembly.
The stereo component amplifier assembly controls the volume according to the mute signal from the DCM (telematics transceiver).
Scheme 58
Each audio system component connected to the AVC-LAN (communication bus) transfers switch signals by the audio visual communication local area network.
If a short to +B or short to ground occurs in this AVC-LAN, the audio system will not function normally as communication is stopped.
This circuit is necessary for the Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL) built into the stereo component amplifier assembly.
The Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL) function automatically adjusts the audio system volume level in order to compensate for increased vehicle noise (vehicle noise tends to increase as vehicle speed increases). The ASL adjusts the volume level based upon vehicle speed signals that it receives from the combination meter assembly.

- w/o Manual (SOS) Switch Using this circuit, the radio receiver assembly sends power to the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly), and the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) sends microphone signals to the radio receiver assembly.
- w/ Manual (SOS) Switch Using this circuit, the DCM (telematics transceiver) sends power to the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly), and the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) sends microphone signals to the radio receiver assembly via the DCM (telematics transceiver). The radio receiver assembly and map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) are connected to each other using the microphone connection detection signal lines.
Scheme 60
The radio receiver assembly uses this circuit to communicate with the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via a direct line. The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) uses this circuit to send an auto dimmer signal to the radio receiver assembly. The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) detects the position of the light control switch according to the resistance. When the light control switch is set to the head or tail position, the resistance between the head or tail terminal and body ground is below 1ohms. When the light control switch is set to the head or tail position, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) sends an auto dimmer signal to the radio receiver assembly. When the radio receiver assembly receives an auto dimmer signal from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), the radio receiver assembly causes the instrument panel illumination to be dimmed.
