REASSEMBLY

  1. INSTALL CLEAN AIR FILTER Install the clean air filter. Engage the 2 claws to install the air filter sub-assembly.
  2. INSTALL BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL Install the blower motor control with the 2 screws.
  3. INSTALL COOLING UNIT MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY Install the cooling unit motor with fan sub-assembly with the 3 screws.
  4. INSTALL AIR INLET SERVO MOTOR Install the air inlet servomotor with the 3 screws

  1. INSTALL BLOWER ASSEMBLY Install the blower assembly with the claw. Install the bolt and 2 screws. Torque: BOLT 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) Install the bracket with the 4 screws and nut. Torque: NUT 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) Install the clamp and connect the connectors.
  2. INSTALL WIRING AIR INDICATOR HARNESS NO.2 SUB-ASSEMBLY
  3. INSTALL AIR DUCT NO.2 Install the air duct No.2 with the screw. Torque: 2.5 N*m (25 kgf*cm, 22 in.*lbf)

  1. INSPECT COOLING UNIT MOTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY W/FAN Remove the cooling unit motor sub-assembly w/ fan. Connect the negative (-) lead connected to terminal 1 of the blower motor connector, the positive (+) lead to terminal 2. OK: Blower motor operates smoothly.

  1. INSPECT AIR INLET CONTROL SERVO MOTOR Remove the air inlet control servo motor. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4, then check that the lever turns to "FRESH" side smoothly. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then check that the lever turns to "RECIRCULATION" side smoothly. NOTE: While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur. If the operation is not as specified, replace the air inlet control servo motor.

  1. INSPECT AIR OUTLET CONTROL SERVO MOTOR Remove the air outlet control servo motor. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then check that the lever turns to "DEF" position. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4, then check that the lever turns to "FACE" position. NOTE: While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur. If the operation is not as specified, replace the air outlet control servo motor.

Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then check that the lever turns to "COOL" side smoothly. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4, then check that the lever turns to "HOT" side smoothly. NOTE: While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.   11. DISCONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE NO.1 Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1 from the electric inverter compressor. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1. NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
  12. DISCONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE NO.1 Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant suction hose No.1 from the electric inverter compressor. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant suction hose No.1.
  13. REMOVE ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR Disconnect the connector (A). Release the green-colored lock (B). CAUTION: Wear insulated gloves when performing the procedures. Disconnect the connector (C). NOTE: Insulate the connector by sealing it with tape. Remove the 3 bolts and electric inverter compressor.
  14. REMOVE SERVICE VALVE Remove the bolt and service valve. Remove the O-ring from the service valve.

  1. INSPECT ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR Disconnect the connector from the electric inverter compressor (A). Using a megohm tester, measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   1. ADJUST COMPRESSOR OIL When replacing the electric inverter compressor with a new one, gradually discharge the refrigerant gas from the cap, and drain the following amount of oil from the new electric inverter compressor before installation. Standard: (Oil capacity inside the new electric inverter compressor: 120 to 135 cc (4.2 to 4.8 fl.oz.)) - (Remaining oil amount in the removed electric inverter compressor) = (Oil amount to be removed from the new compressor when replacing) NOTE: When checking the compressor oil level, observe the precautions on the cooler removal/installation. If a new electric inverter compressor is installed without removing some oil remaining in the pipes of the vehicle, the oil amount will be too large. This prevents heat exchange in the refrigerant cycle and causes refrigerant failure. If the volume of oil remaining in the removed electric inverter compressor is too small, check for oil leakage. Be sure to use ND-OIL 11 or equivalent for compressor oil. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, electric inverter compressor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.
  2. INSTALL SERVICE VALVE Apply sufficient compressor oil (ND-OIL 11) to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the electric inverter compressor. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. NOTE: Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, electric inverter compressor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power. Install the O-ring onto the service valve. Install the service valve No.1 with the bolt. Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)
  3. INSTALL ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR Install the electric inverter compressor with the 3 bolts. CAUTION: Tighten the bolts in the order indicated in the illustration. Torque: 25 N*m (255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf) Connect the connector (A). Lock the green-colored lock (B). NOTE: Wear insulated gloves when performing the procedures. Connect the connector (C).
  4. INSTALL COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE NO.1 Remove the attached vinyl tape from the hose. Apply sufficient compressor oil (ND-OIL 11 or equivalent) to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the electric inverter compressor. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 11 or equivalent NOTE: Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, electric inverter compressor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power. Install the O-ring onto the cooler refrigerant suction hose No. 1. Install the cooler refrigerant suction hose No.1 onto the electric inverter compressor with the bolt. Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)
  5. INSTALL COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE NO.1 Remove the attached vinyl tape from the hose. Apply sufficient compressor oil (ND-OIL 11 or equivalent) to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the electric inverter compressor. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 11 or equivalent NOTE: Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, electric inverter compressor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power. Install the O-ring onto the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1. Install the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1 onto the electric inverter compressor with the bolt. Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)
