INSTALLATION
- INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1) Install a new O-ring to the oil control valve. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring. Install the oil control valve with the bolt. Torque: 10 N*m ( 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) NOTE: Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the oil control valve (connecting surface with cylinder head cover). Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the oil control valve. Connect the oil control valve connector.

- CHECK MASS AIR FLOW METER Check the mass air flow value. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream main switch on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / All Data / MAF. Blow air into the MAF meter, and check that the MAF value fluctuates. If the result is not as specified, check the MAF meter. Refer to «INSPECTION»(ref-385180-S02421556342011021400000) , or wiring and ECM. - INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER Check the output voltage. Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 (+B) and 2 (E2G). NOTE: While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur. Using a voltmeter, connect the positive (+) tester probe to terminal 3 (VG), and the negative (-) tester probe to terminal 2 (E2G). Blow air into the MAF meter and check that the voltage fluctuates. If the result is not as specified, replace the MAF meter. Perform a visual check for any foreign matter on the platinum hot wire (heater) of the mass air flow meter shown in the illustration. OK There is no foreign matter. If the result is not as specified, replace the mass air flow meter. Check the IAT sensor. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 4 (THA) - 5 (E2) -20°C (-4°F) 12.5 to 16.9 kohms 20°C (68°F) 2.19 to 2.67 kohms 60°C (140°F) 0.50 to 0.68 kohms If the result is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.
- INSTALL MASS AIR FLOW METER Install the MAF meter with the 2 screws. Torque: 1.7 N*m ( 17 kgf*cm, 15 in.*lbf) Connect the MAF connector.

- CONNECT WATER BY-PASS PIPE ASSEMBLY Connect the water by-pass pipe to the cylinder head cover and automatic transmission with the 3 bolts. Torque: 18 N*m ( 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) Connect the water by-pass pipe to the cylinder head cover and timing chain cover with the 2 bolts. Torque: 10 N*m ( 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)
