  1. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clamps. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. Detach the armrest base panel assembly. Disconnect the connector. Detach the 2 claws and remove the power window regulator switch assembly.

  1. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below. Standard resistance: STANDARD RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 2 (UP) - 5 (GND) Manual UP operation Below 1 ohms 10 (DOWN) - 5 (GND) Manual DOWN operation Below 1 ohms 4 (AUTO) - 5 (GND) AUTO UP/DOWN operation Below 1 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the power window regulator switch assembly. Check that the LED illuminates. Apply battery voltage to the power window regulator switch and check that the LED illuminates. OK: MEASUREMENT CONDITION REFERENCE CHART Measurement Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) --> 8 (LED) Battery negative (-) --> 5 (GND) LED illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the power window regulator switch assembly.

  1. INSTALL REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Install the power window regulator switch assembly with the 2 claws. Connect the connector. Install the armrest base panel assembly with the 2 clamps.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  1. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Front LH) Apply positive (+) battery voltage to the connector terminal 2. NOTE: Do not apply positive (+) battery voltage to any terminals, except terminal 2, to avoid damaging the pulse sensor inside the motor. Apply negative (-) battery voltage to the connector terminals 1 and 7/10. Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows. OK MEASUREMENT CONDITION REFERENCE CHART Measurement Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) --> 2 Battery negative (-): 1 (3 seconds or more) --> 1 and 10 (within 1 second) --> 1 (within 1 second) --> 1 and 10 Motor gear rotates clockwise (UP) Battery positive (+) --> 2 Battery negative (-): 1 (3 seconds or more) --> 1 and 7 (within 1 second) --> 1 (within 1 second) --> 1 and 7 Motor gear rotates counterclockwise (DOWN) If the result is not as specified, replace the regulator motor assembly. CAUTION: Reset the power window regulator motor (initialize the pulse sensor) after installing the power window regulator motor and regulator assembly onto the door.

  13. PERFORM INITIALIZATION Perform initialization (see «INITIALIZATION»(ref-349706-S07943075812009120800000) ). NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. NOTE: When the power window regulator motor is reinstalled or replaced, the power window control system must be initialized. After a door glass or a door glass run has been replaced, the jam protection function may operate unexpectedly when the AUTO UP function is used. In such cases, the AUTO UP function can be resumed by repeating the following operation at least 5 times: Close the power window by fully pulling up the power window switch and holding it in the AUTO UP position. Open the power window by fully pushing down the switch.

  1. INSTALL NO. 1 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Install 2 new stoppers to the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
  2. INSTALL NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Apply Primer G to the glass where the stopper will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Install 2 new stoppers onto the glass as shown in the illustration.
  3. INSTALL UPPER WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING Using a brush or sponge, coat the contact surface of the glass and molding with Primer G. NOTE: Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not coat the adhesive with Primer G. Throw away any leftover primer. Apply adhesive to the molding as shown in the illustration. Adhesive: Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent HINT: Use all adhesive within the time written in the table below. Usage timeframe ADHESIVE REFERENCE CHART Temperature Usage Timeframe 35°C (95°F) 15 minutes 20°C (68°F) 1 hour 40 minutes 5°C (41 °F) 8 hours Install the windshield outside molding, as shown in the illustration. Remove any unnecessary adhesive before it hardens. NOTE: Make sure that no adhesive remains on the molding and glass.
  4. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS RETAINER Apply Primer G to the glass where the retainer will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Install 2 new retainers onto the glass as shown in the illustration. Specification SPECIFICATION CHART Area Measurement a 30 mm (1.18 in.)
  5. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Apply Primer G to the glass where the glass adhesive dams will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Remove the peeling paper from the adhesive part of the dam. Install the dam (adhesive side) to the glass (Primer G area), but exclude the area above the notches on the upper part of the glass.
  6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS SEAL Apply Primer G to the glass where the windshield glass seal will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Remove the peeling paper from the windshield glass seal. Install the seal to the glass. Specification SPECIFICATION CHART Area Measurement a 30.0 mm (1.1 Sin.) b 20.0 mm (0.787 in.) c 10.0 mm (0.394 in.) d 13.0 mm (0.512 in.) e 88.7 mm (3.49 in.)
  7. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS Position the glass. Using suction cups, place the glass in the correct position. Check that the entire contact surface of the glass rim is perfectly even. Place matchmarks on the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. HINT: Placing matchmarks is only necessary when installing new glass. If it is the reused glass, matchmarks should already be present. When reusing the glass, check and correct the matchmark positions. NOTE: Check that the stoppers are attached to the vehicle body correctly. Using suction cups, remove the glass. Using a brush, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not apply primer to the adhesive. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the glass. Specification SPECIFICATION CHART Area Measurement a 6.5 mm (0.258 in.) b 7.0 mm (0.276 in.) c 3.0 mm (0.118 in.) d 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) e 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) HINT: If the primer is applied to an area that is not specified, apply non-residue solvent to a clean cloth and wipe off the excess primer before it dries. Check that the vehicle body and glass have a small gap between them. Hold the glass in place securely with protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens. NOTE: Do not drive the vehicle for the amount of time written in the table below. Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches. NOTE: When separating the back window glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle's paint or interior/exterior ornaments. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and back window glass as shown in the illustration. CAUTION: If the stopper is damaged, the back window glass assembly must be replaced. Be careful when performing the procedure. Make sure not to deform the upper brackets. Make sure not to damage the wire harness. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends. Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. HINT: Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass is not going to be reused. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back window glass. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back window glass. Using suction cups, remove the back window glass. NOTE: If the stopper is damaged, the back window glass assembly must be replaced. Be careful when performing the procedure.
  49. CLEAN BACK WINDOW GLASS Clean the outer edge of the back window glass with a non-residue solvent. NOTE: Do not touch the back window glass surface after cleaning it. Be careful not to damage the glass. Even if using new back window glass, clean the back window glass with a non-residue solvent.
  50. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY Using a scraper, remove the molding and adhesive from the back window glass. Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration. HINT: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner. HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.

  10. INSTALL BACK WINDOW MOLDING OUTSIDE LOWER Clean the vehicle body surface. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner. If reusing the molding: Clean the molding. Using a heat light, heat the molding. Remove the double-sided tape from the molding. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner. Apply new double-sided tape to the molding, as shown in the illustration. Install the molding. Using a heat light, heat the molding. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the molding. HINT: After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter. Attach the clip on the center of the molding. Use the back window glass bottom edge's stoppers (left and right position setting stoppers) to determine the moldings front to rear position. Then attach the 2 claws and 4 fasteners to install the molding. HINT: As the glass bottom edge's stoppers are only for determining the moldings position, they do not attach to the molding.
