- REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clamps. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. Detach the armrest base panel assembly. Disconnect the connector. Detach the 2 claws and remove the power window regulator switch assembly.

In such cases, the AUTO UP function can be resumed by repeating the following operation at least 5 times: Close the power window by fully pulling up the power window switch and holding it in the AUTO UP position. Open the power window by fully pushing down the switch.

- INSTALL NO. 1 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Install 2 new stoppers to the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
- INSTALL NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Apply Primer G to the glass where the stopper will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Install 2 new stoppers onto the glass as shown in the illustration.
- INSTALL UPPER WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING Using a brush or sponge, coat the contact surface of the glass and molding with Primer G. NOTE: Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not coat the adhesive with Primer G. Throw away any leftover primer. Apply adhesive to the molding as shown in the illustration. Adhesive: Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent HINT: Use all adhesive within the time written in the table below. Usage timeframe ADHESIVE REFERENCE CHART Temperature Usage Timeframe 35°C (95°F) 15 minutes 20°C (68°F) 1 hour 40 minutes 5°C (41 °F) 8 hours Install the windshield outside molding, as shown in the illustration. Remove any unnecessary adhesive before it hardens. NOTE: Make sure that no adhesive remains on the molding and glass.
- INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS RETAINER Apply Primer G to the glass where the retainer will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Install 2 new retainers onto the glass as shown in the illustration. Specification SPECIFICATION CHART Area Measurement a 30 mm (1.18 in.)
- INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Apply Primer G to the glass where the glass adhesive dams will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Remove the peeling paper from the adhesive part of the dam. Install the dam (adhesive side) to the glass (Primer G area), but exclude the area above the notches on the upper part of the glass.
- INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS SEAL Apply Primer G to the glass where the windshield glass seal will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Remove the peeling paper from the windshield glass seal. Install the seal to the glass. Specification SPECIFICATION CHART Area Measurement a 30.0 mm (1.1 Sin.) b 20.0 mm (0.787 in.) c 10.0 mm (0.394 in.) d 13.0 mm (0.512 in.) e 88.7 mm (3.49 in.)
- INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS Position the glass. Using suction cups, place the glass in the correct position. Check that the entire contact surface of the glass rim is perfectly even. Place matchmarks on the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. HINT: Placing matchmarks is only necessary when installing new glass. If it is the reused glass, matchmarks should already be present. When reusing the glass, check and correct the matchmark positions. NOTE: Check that the stoppers are attached to the vehicle body correctly. Using suction cups, remove the glass. Using a brush, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not apply primer to the adhesive. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the glass. Specification SPECIFICATION CHART Area Measurement a 6.5 mm (0.258 in.) b 7.0 mm (0.276 in.) c 3.0 mm (0.118 in.) d 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) e 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) HINT: If the primer is applied to an area that is not specified, apply non-residue solvent to a clean cloth and wipe off the excess primer before it dries. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Apply adhesive to the glass. Adhesive: Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration. HINT: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time written in the table below. Install the glass to the vehicle body. Using suction cups, position the glass so that the matchmarks are aligned. Press it in gently along the rim. Lightly press the outer surface of the glass to ensure that it is securely fit to the vehicle body. NOTE: Check that the stoppers are attached to the vehicle body correctly. Check that the vehicle body and glass have a small gap between them. Hold the glass in place securely with protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens. NOTE: Do not drive the vehicle for the amount of time written in the table below. - CHECK FOR WATER LEAKS Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened. Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.
- INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY Return the roof headlining to its original position. Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. Do not lift the molding or slide it toward vehicle rear when detaching the clip. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

- REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS NOTE: As the stopper, bracket and harness are not supplied individually, be careful not to damage them when installing the back window glass. Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches. NOTE: When separating the back window glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle's paint or interior/exterior ornaments. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and back window glass as shown in the illustration. CAUTION: If the stopper is damaged, the back window glass assembly must be replaced. Be careful when performing the procedure. Make sure not to deform the upper brackets. Make sure not to damage the wire harness. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends. Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. HINT: Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass is not going to be reused. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back window glass. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back window glass. Using suction cups, remove the back window glass. NOTE: If the stopper is damaged, the back window glass assembly must be replaced. Be careful when performing the procedure.
- CLEAN BACK WINDOW GLASS Clean the outer edge of the back window glass with a non-residue solvent. NOTE: Do not touch the back window glass surface after cleaning it. Be careful not to damage the glass. Even if using new back window glass, clean the back window glass with a non-residue solvent.
- CLEAN VEHICLE BODY Using a scraper, remove the molding and adhesive from the back window glass. Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration. HINT: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner. HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
