REMOVAL

Note. Make sure the combination meter glass and meter display panel does not become dirty with fingerprints, oil, etc. If dirty, clean with a soft cloth. Be careful of static electricity when handling the meter ECU and meter display panel. Make sure the work area has static electricity prevention measures.

CAUTIONDo not touch any parts of the circuit of the meter display panel and condenser. Even if the engine switch is off, the meter display panel and condenser are electrically charged.

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH (See «REMOVAL»(ref-349732-S04425564642009120800000) )
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter (see «CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS»(ref-349706-S40935619612009120800000) ). NOTE: Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation. HINT: Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly. Turn the engine switch off and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation. NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  3. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (See «REMOVAL»(ref-349735-S05206456932009120800000) )
  4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See «REMOVAL»(ref-349735-S05206456932009120800000) )
  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration. Remove the 2 clips. Using a molding remover, detach the 2 clips. Disconnect the connector and remove the finish panel.
  6. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Remove the 4 screws. Disconnect the connector and remove the combination meter.
