DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (front left sensor) is installed on the front bumper.

The clearance warning ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the front left sensor. If the front left sensor's circuit has an open, short or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

  1. INSPECT NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR Remove the ultrasonic sensor. Measure the resistance of the sensor. Standard resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition S (D2-2) - E (D2-1) Always 600 to 1,200 kohms NOTE: Set the tester to the 100 kohms range before performing the measurement. NG --> REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT LEFT SENSOR) OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU - ULTRASONIC SENSOR) Disconnect the Q37 ECU connector. Disconnect the D2 sensor connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors. Standard resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition S4 (Q37-6) - S (D2-2) Always Below 1 ohms E4 (Q37-19) - E (D2-1) Always Below 1 ohms S4 (Q37-6) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher E4 (Q37-19) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK --> REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU

The clearance sonar main switch is installed on the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

When the clearance sonar main switch in turned ON, an ON signal is sent to the clearance warning ECU through the BEAN line. The intuitive parking assist system operates according to this signal.

  1. INSPECT FUSE (LH-IG) Remove the LH-IG fuse from the cowl side junction block LH. Measure the resistance of the LH-IG fuse. Standard resistance Below 1 ohms NG --> REPLACE LH-IG FUSE OK: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT CLEARANCE WARNING ECU (IG TERMINAL VOLTAGE) Disconnect the Q37 ECU connector. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector. Standard voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition IG (Q37-8) - Body ground Engine switch ON (IG) 10 to 14 V NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU - BATTERY) OK: Go to next step
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU - BODY GROUND) Disconnect the Q37 ECU connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector. Standard resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E (Q37-27) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK --> PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
