PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT RH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery. Disconnect the U8 belt connector. Disconnect the V42 ECU connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition U8-1 - Body ground 1 Mohms or higher U8-2 - Body ground U8-1 - U8-2 NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH Reconnect the U8 belt connector. Disconnect the V42 ECU connector. Measure the resistance of the belt. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition U8-1 - Body ground 1 Mohms or higher U8-2 - Body ground NG --> REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH OK --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT LH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery. Disconnect the V6 belt connector. Disconnect the V42 ECU connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition V6-1 - Body ground 1 Mohms or higher V6-2 - Body ground V6-1 - V6-2 NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH Reconnect the V6 belt connector. Disconnect the V42 ECU connector. Measure the resistance of the belt. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition V6-1 - Body ground 1 Mohms or higher V6-2 - Body ground NG --> REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH OK --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. Turn the power switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in memory. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Turn the power switch off. Turn the power switch on (IG). Check for the DTCs. OK No DTC is output. NG --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU OK --> USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Delete the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Check for DTC. RESULT: Result Proceed to DTC does not reoccur A Dynamic radar cruise control system DTC (P1570) reoccurs B Pre-collision system DTC (B2055) reoccurs C C --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU B --> GO TO DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM A --> END
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Delete the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Check for DTC. RESULT: Result Proceed to DTC does not reoccur A Dynamic radar cruise control system DTC (P1570) reoccurs B Pre-collision system DTC (B2056) reoccurs C C --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU B --> GO TO DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM A --> END
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Delete the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Check for DTC. RESULT: Result Proceed to DTC does not reoccur A Electronically controlled brake system DTC (C1234) reoccurs B Pre-collision system DTC (B2057) reoccurs C C --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU B --> GO TO ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM A --> END
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Delete the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Recheck for DTC. RESULT: Result Proceed to DTC does not reoccur A CAN communication system DTC (U0126) reoccurs B Pre-collision system DTC (B2058) reoccurs C C --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU B --> GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM A --> END
  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the vehicle speed meter. Combination Meter Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Vehicle Speed Meter Vehicle speed/Min: 0 km/h (0 mph), Max: 255 km/h (158 mph) Almost same as actual vehicle speed (When driving) - OK Vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the actual vehicle speed. NG --> GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK FOR DTC (MALFUNCTION IN CAN COMMUNICATION WITH ECM) Delete the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Check for DTC. RESULT: Result Proceed to DTC does not reoccur A CAN communication system DTC (U0073, U0100, U0122 or U0126) reoccurs B Pre-collision system DTC (B2059) reoccurs C C --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU B --> GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM A --> END
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Delete the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Check for DTC. RESULT: Result Proceed to DTC does not reoccur A CAN communication system DTC (U0122) reoccurs B Electronically controlled brake system DTC reoccurs C Pre-collision system DTC (B2060) reoccurs D D --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU C --> GO TO ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM B --> GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM A --> END
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Delete the DTC. Check the DTC output. Result Proceed to No DTC is output A B1656 is output B B1771 is output C B1650 is output D B2063 is output E E --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU D --> GO TO B1650 (AIRBAG SYSTEM) C --> GO TO B1771 (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM) B --> GO TO B1656 (AIRBAG SYSTEM) A --> END
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Delete the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Check the DTC. RESULT: Result Proceed to Pre-collision system DTC (B2064) reoccurs A CAN communication system DTC reoccurs B Multiplex communication system DTC reoccurs C DTC does not reoccur D D --> END C --> GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM B --> GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM A: Go to next step
  2. CHECK NETWORK GATEWAY ECU (OPERATION) Temporarily replace the network gateway ECU with a new or normally functioning one. Check for DTC. OK DTC B2064 does not reoccur. NG --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU OK --> END (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
  1. CHECK FOR DTC Delete the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-387147-S35819042742011022400000) . Check for DTC. RESULT: Result Proceed to DTC does not reoccur A Dynamic radar cruise control system DTC (P1617) reoccurs B Pre-collision system DTC (B2065) reoccurs C C --> REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU B --> GO TO DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM A --> END
